12 simple breakfasts for hiking in the forest and mountains

Most people associate camping food with meager food: canned food, instant soups and porridge. However, after reading this article, you will understand that a hike is not an obstacle to eating tasty and varied food.

Breakfast is important because it energizes us and gives us strength for the rest of the day. This is especially important when you are in the field.

1. Blueberry Pie

Ingredients: blueberries, loaf, eggs, milk, sour cream, sugar and cinnamon
You need to prepare the base for the pie at home. You need to mix eggs, milk, sour cream, sugar and cinnamon into a single consistency. It is better to store this preparation in an airtight container while on a hike.
When you prepare the dish, mix the finely chopped loaf and blueberries with the liquid preparation.
The resulting mixture with the soaked loaf can be baked on a wire rack, wrapped in foil. Be sure to divide it into portions. The food takes approximately 25–30 minutes to prepare.

2. Muffins in oranges

Ingredients: muffin dough, orange.
As mentioned earlier, on a hike we take dough prepared in advance and store it in an airtight container.
Carefully cut the orange in half and remove the pulp. Pour the dough into one half of the orange and cover with the other half. Wrap the workpiece in foil. Bake on fire, be sure to turn over!

3. Bacon and eggs in a bag

Ingredients: bacon, eggs.
Place the chopped pork in the bottom of a cotton bag and beat in the eggs. Place on the fire and wait for the scrambled eggs to be ready.

4. Fried eggs for a tourist

Ingredients: butter, eggs, herbs, boiled potatoes, sausage, tomatoes, bell peppers.
The manipulations are usual: fry the eggs in a frying pan, after melting the butter for a delicate taste. Mix well, sprinkle greens on top.
If desired, supplement the dish with your favorite foods or leftover food from dinner. For example, boiled potatoes with sausage or vegetables (tomatoes and bell peppers). Be sure to cover with a lid while cooking and let the dish brew!

5. Healthy breakfast

Ingredients: pork or sausage, potatoes, tomato, eggs, green onions, cheese.
We pack the future dish in foil: first add pork or sausage, then add diced potatoes and tomatoes. The last layer consists of a broken egg and green onions.
Wrap the workpiece in foil and cook on a wire rack. A few minutes before it's ready, sprinkle the dish with grated cheese. A delicious and healthy breakfast is ready to eat when the cheese is completely melted. Bon appetit!

7. Grilled sausages with cheese and bacon

Ingredients: sausage, bacon and cheese.
Make slits in the sausages and insert pieces of cheese into the slits. Wrap the sausages in bacon and cook in a frying pan until golden brown.

8. Sandwich on the fire

Ingredients: bread, eggs, sausage, cheese
Place a piece of bread in a frying pan, add an egg, sausage and grated cheese. Place a second slice of bread on top of the filling. Bake over a fire, after covering with a metal lid.

9. Casserole with sausage

Ingredients: ready-made dough (flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, milk, egg, butter), sausage, butter.
We prepare the dough at home before the trip. To do this, mix the following products: flour, salt, sugar and baking powder, milk, egg and butter. Mix everything well until smooth. We store the mixture in an airtight container while camping.
We fry sausage in oil outdoors. Then remove the sausage from the frying pan and pour the finished dough into it. When the dough is fried, place the fried sausage on top. Cover with a lid and let the dish brew.

10. Oatmeal

Ingredients: oatmeal, dried fruits, nuts and fruits, berries.
At home, before going on a hike, we mix oatmeal, dried fruits and nuts.
While camping, boil water, add the prepared oat mixture and wait for the dish to be ready. The dish can be supplemented with butter, your favorite fruits or berries.

11. Millet porridge with raisins

Ingredients: millet, milk, sugar, raisins, butter.
Pour the millet into hot salted water and keep it on the fire for 10-15 minutes after boiling.
After draining the remaining water, add warm milk and sugar to taste. Simmer the porridge over low heat. At the same time, in a separate bowl, cook the raisins with sugar until they are steamed.
The last step is to mix the raisins with the porridge. Before serving, add butter.

12. Pasta with stew

Ingredients: onions, stewed meat, pasta.
Add chopped onion and stew to the pan and fry them thoroughly.
Pour in the pasta and add water until the water completely covers the pasta. Simmer over low heat and let the dish brew.
