Apple Watch Series 6: major changes

Apple Watch Series 6 is the latest generation of the world's most popular smartwatch. The product was presented at the Time Flies conference on September 15, 2020 and went on official sale on September 18.

Apple Watch Series 6 brings some major changes over last year's Series 5, most notably the addition of additional sensors that enable the watch to measure blood oxygen saturation levels using red light.

  • Another new product is the SIP S6 chip with a 64-bit dual-core processor. This is 20% faster than S5.
  • In addition, we have a slightly larger battery and another new feature. A U1 (Ultra Wideband) chip was added to the device.
  • The way watch interiors are designed has changed. Now, when demolished, its elements open like a book.
  • Also new are the body colors: blue, red or gold (stainless steel) are just a few of the color samples currently available.

Apple Watch Series 6 looks the same as Apple Watch Series 5 and Series 4, but only when we look at the watch from above. From below you can immediately see a completely different arrangement of sensors. Series 6 looks professional. The watch models are impressive with their characteristics, which is good news.

Technical Additions

Admittedly, the red and blue body colors combined with the new straps make a lightning-fast impression. On the other hand, such a set (especially strong red) does not match all elements of clothing. The entire structure is additionally coated with 300D polyester, which ensures resistance to water, sweat and gives a pleasant texture to the bracelet.

What makes the Apple Watch Series 6 different from this year's SE version is that it has a shock-resistant screen and two sensors. The first is related to the technology that allows you to measure the work of the heart - ECG. In turn, the second is responsible for measuring blood oxygen saturation. The ECG has been on the clock for two years (introduced in series 4). On the contrary, the sensors responsible for measuring blood oxygen levels are the main novelty in the 6 Series.
