Seasons of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is located in the center of the huge continent of Eurasia at a considerable distance from the oceans and seas. The territory of Kazakhstan stretches over 3000 km. from west to east and 2000 km. from north to south. In general, the climate of Kazakhstan is characterized as sharply continental. The weather in different parts of the country can differ sharply due to a large territory, so if in the south the gardens are in full bloom, then at the same time there is snow in the north of the country. The country is located in the southern part of the temperate climate zone. The seasons on its territory are clearly defined.

The air in winter is dry and cold; cold and strong winds often blow in the northern regions. The lowest temperature in Kazakhstan was recorded in the city of Atbasar, Akmola region -57 degrees, Astana is the coldest capital after Ulaanbaatar.

Spring in Kazakhstan, over most of its territory, comes in April. The weather in spring is very unstable, the temperature difference can reach over 10 degrees.

Summer in Kazakhstan begins at the end of May, even in the north of the republic sometimes the temperature in this month can reach + 30 degrees. In most of Kazakhstan, summer is dry and arid and lasts until September. The highest temperature was recorded in the city of Turkestan +49 degrees.

 Autumn usually begins at the end of September, and warm autumn weather lasts until November. During this period there are frosts only at night.

Climate by region of Kazakhstan.

Eastern Kazakhstan has a sharply continental climate, with hot, dry summers and cold, snowy winters. In rare cases, in the absence of rain, the air temperature rose to + 40 degrees; in winter, cases of air temperature dropping to -50 degrees are also rare.

The climate of Central Kazakhstan is sharply continental, with hot summers and cold winters with little snow. The region experiences frequent snow storms in winter and dust storms in summer.

Western Kazakhstan has a sharply continental climate throughout the year, and sudden temperature changes can occur throughout the day. There are strong winds in winter and sandstorms in summer.

Southern Kazakhstan, the climate is continental, the region experiences warm winters and hot summers. In the South Kazakhstan region, the temperature in summer reaches +49 degrees.

 Information for beach lovers - in the Caspian Sea in Western Kazakhstan, the beach season begins in May, as well as in banks of the Kapchagai reservoir in the south of Kazakhstan.
