The history of the city of Kostanay goes back to 1879, when a settlement of Russians and Ukrainians was formed on the left bank of the Tobol. And in 1893, the settlement was given the status of a city and given the name Nikolaevsk. The city began to develop and at the beginning of the 20th century became a large trade and fair center in Kazakh steppes. An interesting fact is that there is a brewery in the city, which was built at the expense of a Swiss; at the beginning of the 20th century it was a large plant in the entire Southern Urals and in the territory of modern Kazakhstan. The factory was built of red brick and is one of the oldest buildings in the city. Today Kostanay is a large administrative center of Kazakhstan, and the region is the largest supplier of grain crops. Kostanay is a modern city with modern architecture.
Among the attractions of the city of Kostanay, I would like to highlight the Kostanay Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.
