Rest on Alakol

Alakol is a lake located in the Almaty region at approximately 347 meters above sea level, where there are practically no plants, since it is a semi-desert zone. And, of course, this is one of the most popular lakes in the entire Republic of Kazakhstan, and it is famous for its healing properties and good recreation centers on the shores of Alakol, of which, by the way, there are many. A special feature of the lake is the black beach, the only one of its kind, with perfectly rounded pebbles and gravel that contain a lot of silicon. The air in this region is very clean, and there are also many mineral springs and various muds in which people take baths. As for temperature, in summer the average temperature is +30C.

What is the water like on Alakol?? The first thing I would like to note is the transparency of the lake water, which is very, very close to sea water, namely the waters of the Black Sea, which contains a large number of chemical elements useful for the human body. The water warms up to +25C in summer, which makes being in it very pleasant.

Many stories are told about this lake, one of which is the story of Genghis Khan. When warriors received wounds during a battle, the commander took them to a healing lake called Alakol; when warriors bathe in the water, they are healed faster. Today the lake is also used by the military, namely astronauts, who undergo cleansing from cosmic radiation on the lake. The lake is also notable for the fact that the Great Silk Road passed through it, and merchants and traders stopped there to refresh themselves and heal.

But let’s talk about what types of diseases are treated at Alakol: skin diseases, diseases of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. The shoreline of the lake is covered with pebbles, which have a good effect on the body, especially when it warms up well.
