It also passed through the entire territory of Mangistau, so one of the tourist routes of the Mangistau region is precisely a journey along the Great Silk Road, through the Ustyurt plateau, the Shetpa Gate to the Caspian coast.

Main Attractions, with which you will get acquainted are small settlements: Sartash, Alta, Ketyk, the sacred mountain Sherkala, and not far from it are the ruins of the fortress of Genghis Khan’s son Jochi. Here you can see many historical and architectural monuments: underground mosques Beket-Ata, Shakpak-Ata, Eset-Batyr memorial complex.

Having chosen the Mangistau region for a holiday in Kazakhstan, it is interesting to visit Lake Saura. This amazing place is like a piece of paradise. In the middle of the desert stretches a green valley covered with weeping old willows. Walking through the Saura gorge, you will see a real miracle of nature - a lake. The lake is surrounded on three sides by steep rocky walls. When you look at the lake, you get the impression that it is at the bottom of a stone bowl, as if hidden from uninvited guests. But the most interesting thing is that the lake has a second half; after walking along the gorge about five hundred meters you will find another lake. Walking along the shore of Lake Saura, you will probably meet marsh turtles who have chosen the lakes for their homes. The limestone rocks surrounding the lake “shed tears” and the water dripped on the stone. According to local belief, the lake can cure childlessness, so here you can meet pilgrims who make their ritual circles around the lake. The Caspian seashore is located very close to the lake. Places of Kazakhstan are waiting for you!
