Mangystau. The land of scorching sun and solar heat. But for local residents this is the best area to live in all of Kazakhstan. We will try to find out why this is so. Therefore, we will describe only the best places in Mangystau, of which there are quite a few in this area, a total of a third monuments of Kazakhstan located on the Mangyshlak Peninsula. This is an incredible value for archaeologists and simply lovers of the culture and history of the Kazakh people. In Mangistau there are many mosques that are located right in the rock, where a large expanse of stone was cut down and now there is a mosque there.
It’s no secret that I passed through Mangistau the great silk road, interestingly, many wells have been dug along the entire route that passes through Mangyshlak, although there is a lot of salt in this area. Why is there water then?
Now we will tell tourists who want to visit the Mangystau region about the attractions of this region. And the first on this list will be a mosque Beket - Father. It is located just over three hundred meters above sea level and from its height reveals a beautiful landscape of Mangyshlak and flying birds, rare birds that live in this area. The mosque is dedicated to one of the most authoritative people of Mangistau - Beket Ata Myrzagululy.
Sherkala Forest. It is located in the canyons of Mangistau, and anyone who wants to get to know this region better should really visit it. It’s hard to climb up the mountain, and even harder to get off it; when you climb, you’ll see different caves. Sherkala is along with Beket-Ata, a shrine of western Kazakhstan. And the opinion of historians about Sherkala is that there was once a fortress on the top of the mountain.
Lake Batyr. This is a deep depression, also called Karagiye, a giant basin 132 meters deep. Once upon a time there was Lake Batyr. If you walk around the depression, you can discover ancient historical monuments and where ancient people once lived. Many tourists specifically come to this amazing ancient monument to find treasure or archaeologically valuable artifacts.
Tupkaragan. This is the name of the cape; it is a well of an ancient culture that was once located in this area. Scientists believe that there was once a city here and served as a fort post of Western Kazakhstan. In more modern history, Tupkaragan also occupied an important place; in 1909, a radio station was installed here.
Saura Gorge. It looks like a large bowl whose height is more than fifty meters. Those who love turtles, this is the place for you because there are a lot of them here, swamp turtles are found here. As you can see in the photo, there is a small lake here where they live.
And of course we can’t help but say about the city of Aktau, which is for the most part tourist city of Kazakhstan, where there are many recreation centers. Of course, its main attraction is the Caspian Sea - the largest enclosed body of water on the planet where many tourists from Kazakhstan itself and near foreign countries spend their holidays. Of course, they love Aktau across the sea and of course it’s nice to relax here, especially sunbathe. The tan you get on the Caspian Sea is in no way inferior to the tan you get, for example, after visiting Turkey. The average summer temperature here is about 34 degrees, which is of course normal for this region, but often this figure is much higher, especially in the month of July. For a comfortable beach holiday, the authorities are going to qualitatively equip the central beach in the near future, and mostly tourists relax on private beaches that meet international standards.
